Mystery Circle (Japanese: ミステリーサークル) is a minigame and the signature memory of Myd in Chee-Chai Alien.

Details[edit | edit source]

This memory is a minigame where the player controls Myd with the d-pad. Myd must form a crop circle called a Mystery Circle to find a broken piece. The game takes place in an 8x7 square playing field of grass. There are a number of levels with different names; the first one is called "ねらわれた ぼくじょう" ("I've been targeted").

A Mystery Piece is formed by first placing a part with A-Button, and then rotating it using the arrow keys. For the circle to be complete, it must occupy 2x2 squares in the field and be in the shape of an actual circle, which then fills it in on the field. If the broken piece is contained within the circle, Myd can collect it; completing the level. If the player makes an error in forming the circle, it can be erased using the B-Button (both before and after placing it).

There are also two enemies; the farmer and cameraman. They must be avoided so that Myd isn't handed over, and their line of sight is indicated by red-filled squares. If Myd walks into a red-filled square, the enemy will chase after Myd (a "!" mark will appear above their head, similar to the Pokémon series) and the game will end if they catch Myd.
